museum trip thank you letter

Thank you for teaching us about old fashioned games and going out of your way for it to be fun. I really enjoyed learning about the old Maori games. Most of the games I have never played before including marbles, the 8 point star game, or the animated picture wheels.

NBC cultural night

 Yesterday evening our school had a cultural night where you brought in food and each class learnt one or two performances our class learnt two one for india and one for switzerland. For india we did a bollywood dance called chunari chunari and for switzerland we did the lonley goatherd yodeling from the sound of music. Many people brought food from the cultures their class was doing, I did samosas for india they were great and gone in 8 minutes.

first off when we got there many people were still coming so we weren't aloud to eat any food until later after everyone was there we started eating the first thing i ate was some butter chicken curry it was delicious then i went to brazil and had a cheese ball  i also had a churro at brazil then i had a cheese roll at NZ at a mini sausage sandwich at germany.

At around 6:00 o'clock the performances started we went first with our chunari chunari dance me and taj started it off with an introduction and then we started with the dance it seemed to go really well  the crowd enjoyed it. after 8 more performances we got back on stage  and yodeled to the crowd and we got cheered for again it felt good.

Dear Miss Pownall,

I strongly believe that we should have a dog in the class because, It makes you happy to be around dogs, it is relaxing at meditation and even when doing work, and finally it will be a new learning experience and will probably boost us mentally. 

Firstly, dogs make you happy and less stressed. Studies have shown that having a dog can affect the owner´s emotions in a positive way because it lets off a happy hormone in your brain called oxytocin. Many people find that having a dog helps depression by an ever growing rate. I find that in my own life being around dogs mentally calms me down if I am stressed and makes me happy.

Secondly, when dogs are around most people relax .When dogs are around kids and adults can relax more and complete more work because it could be a reward to have time with the dog. When I have meditation with a dog or any animal I am more calm and relaxed. Studies have shown that meditating with a dog can decrease anxiety and help both of your mental wellbeing. 

Finally, it will be  mentally boosting for us,  because it will be a new learning experience for us to learn with a dog plus it will help us focus in and listen because we know no dog likes really loud noises. Studies have shown Pets mainly dogs help depression and loneliness and encourage you to exercise and  be more playful.

In conclusion, having a dog in the class will help the whole class in many ways by making us happier, more relaxed and it will help us with our learning a lot.

It is unacceptable that people think all kids should have pets 1 they are expensive 2 many kids have allergies 3 lots of kids have anger issues.

Firstly pets are extremely expensive and on  top of that they eat a lot of food which is also expensive dogs will also cost a fortune is damage to furniture and carpets from their muddy paws. Don’t get me started on vet bills they are just crazy .

Secondly many kids have allergies, which can make them sick or even be fatal so don’t get a pet without checking if you or your kid have animal allergies. Also more than 10 people die from pet allergies.

Finally some kids have anger issues which can lead to harm for the pet or the kid. Let me explain a dog can get hurt by a kid and then it will strike back leaving the kid in the hospital or the pet in the vet or both, so be careful up to 100 people die from animal attacks each year.

In conclusion not all kids should have pets, but if you do make sure it is the right one.

In my class i watched this short film called ruin by Wes Ball it was very interesting and nobody spoke but you heard the sound of running we had to answer some questions about it 

• When is this story set? 2500.
• How do we know? Because it is a post apocalyptic film .
• What do you think has happened? world war three broke out and it is every man for him/her self.
• How did one man survive or are there more? there are more cause one person kicked the box one man was driving the space ship and the main character and the rest are probably in hiding .
• What is trying to stop him and why? the person is trying to stop them from finding the secret bunker that is the only place that is safe.
• What will happen next? the world exploded and they have to go into space.

In a small town a big rivalry began between a small and a tall shoemaker today I am going to tell you about The Little Shoemaker.

He is a lonely man who wears an old and dirty apron over his bright blue top, he has huge square glasses over his giant nose. He always has hair done in a very pointy style which makes him seem taller than he really is but he is always too short for a lot of things.

His only friends are his shoes, shoes that he makes and he makes them so well they have their own emotions and can move around. But every man needs money so he sells his shoe friends to everyone.

And that is the story The Little Shoemaker.

I read this book Fever by Renata Hopkins. It was i very strange book and i have i few questions on the book these are them.

Who was the ghost ?

Why did the ghost come to the girl?

Why did the girl suddenly become sick?

Why did they let kids in a place where tuberculosis could be ?

Why did the ghost follow her?

Why didn’t she tell anyone?

Why didn’t anyone else see the ghost?

Pentecost story

I have  been reading about Pentecost and this is the story i wrote.


Pentecost story

Jesus had rose from the dead and promised us a gift the holy spirit and once it comes go out and spread the word of my father our god, then he ascended to heaven through a gap in the clouds  Later the disciples were praying in the parish, when a huge gust of wind came in through the windows everyone was terrified, but when the flames on peoples heads started to feel the presents of god. When they all went outside they could hear everyone talking in different languages but they could understand everyone. One of the disciples got on a seat and told everyone about the holy spirit everyone listened and helped spread the word of god to the ends of the earth.

I have made a recipe for pancakes i make the pancakes a lot myself and they are delicious and i would really like if you wanted to try it.
Ingredients: 1 cup flour, ½ cup sugar, a knob of butter,tbsp oil, tsp baking powder, 1 egg and 1 cup milk

1. Preheat pan to 140dg
2 . Mix dry ingredients together
 3. Crack one egg and put it in the bowl
4. Add the milk
5. Mix all ingredients together
6. Put the oil and the butter on the pan and wait for it to melt
7. Place pancake size blobs of the mix on the pan
8. Flip when there are bubbles on the top
9. Then wait one more minute and put on plate and enjoy

On the 24th of February the Year Six’s went to Living Springs for a school camp. We got to do many marvellous things including the Monorail.

My favourite was the Monorail, because it was so fast it felt like you were free falling off a cliff ,but the horrible thing about it all was that you had to carry your cart all the way up the hill to the top of the monorail, which took forever.(well we didn’t the adults did)

All the parents had to carry the carts so after it they were exhausted but still it was thrilling and exhilarating I hope I can do it again.
