We are learning to problem solve as a team
For S.T.E.M had to make a bridge that could hold two books out of some sticks and some rubber bands. It went well because we worked as a team and got it to hold the books, our creation was crosses rubber bannded together . our next step is probably to work quicker and decide on a creation first.

Today we did a class trip at new Brighton beach and learnt about sand dunes and how they are important to us. The way sand is made is by rocks on the mountains eroding by the rain and hail, then they come down with melted snow, and  in the river then into the with the waves and onto the beach. The way sand dunes are made is the wind blowing and making them.  we also had to make a sand dune

super S.T.E.M

Today we did a S.T.E.M challenge  and we had to make a marble shoot out of tape,and toilet rolls, we were aloud to use scissors to cut up the rolls. we had to work in groups mine was matias and makayla but of course me. we went well and made a shoot. I think our next step would be make to it longer.

For some homework we had to deiced whether people should come new Zealand in summer ,autumn, winter or spring. I personally think that people should come mid spring to start of summer. for many reasons such as it is still warm and dry but there are not too many people on the beach or at outdoor activity's.

For the last two weeks our class has been doing swimming lessons at Q E 2. what I learnt was how to call for help. I really liked going on the boat it was fun even when it almost tipped us out. I also liked the part when we flipped out of the boat. My least favourite part was doing the wiggly worm I hate it, because you go up and down it's horrible. Do you like it?
The hardest thing to learn is breaststroke.

Mary gets a message         
I am Mary today it is the 6/1/10. It was just a normal day, I was out hanging washing and I was going to ring Elizabeth later. I was halfway done when something flew out of the sky wait it wasn't a something it was a someone they told me their name was Gabriel and they were an angel, they wanted to tell me that I will have a baby and name him Jesus.  I was so shocked I fell over and fainted. Next time I woke up Gabriel was gone and Joseph was standing over me with a worried expression. I started mumbling angel, Gabriel, baby, Jesus. Then Joseph cut me off and said I know I talked to Gabriel as well. He said if you wake up you would be lucky as you took a big bump to the head. I have to tell Elizabeth i thought to myself.

1. Get two pieces of bread out of the bag and put them on the table.Open the peanut butter.

2. Put the knife in the peanut butter (pointy side down.)

3. Scoop some peanut butter out of the jar with the knife

4. Spread the peanut butter on the face of one piece of bread

5. Place the other piece of bread on the peanut butter one 

6. Cut it in half (optional)

7. Enjoy

For the last two weeks I have been writing a story about the Greek gods and a quest to stop war, I hope you like it. 


The Gods at war
Many years in the future at mount Olympus one of the gods threw Zeus’ lightning bolt off the side of Olympus, but who…

Anyway, my name is Poseidon the god of the sea, if you are thinking I did not throw Zeus’ bolt off Olympus for April fools, we are never ageing so what is the point of years, months, all other stuff mortals (people who can die) have. I have my suspicions on Helios he has always wanted to be a really powerful god not just a minor god, but if no one returns it there will be war!

“I am out playing with my dog. That looks like a good stick, go doggie bring it back, huh Buddie, that's strange blood and guts everywhere, you exploded waaa, waaa there's the stick, bye.

See that lightning bolt is dangerous to normal people including Half-Blood so if you are one who is reading this book don't think you are safe, here's another example of why it is dangerous but this one is from a week ago.

“Wow it is raining sticks nope just one a big one  it’s looks like it’s  going to hit my car” bang. “It looks like this car got hit by lightning but it is clear, weird.” 

“See it is a really bad thing for the bolt to be out in the mortal world, will you take a quest to save the bolt or not, if you do I can not promise you will come back alive. no, ok I will get someone else bye“

 “hi my name is Annabeth daughter of Athena goddess of war and wisdom, where there is a quest I am in, and i need you to come with me OK, no let me guess Poseidon told you you won't come back, don’t worry your with me, I have survived many quests and i am not even dead, so come now.” 

 “One more thing bring The bolt back  before the winter solstice” said Poseidon.

We walked in silence  for a minute, Which was ok with me because I didn't feel like talking cos I was on a quest that could destroy the world if I failed. But finally Annabeth broke the silence when we came to a fork in the road, she asked “which way.” I thought I thought for a moment and then I came up with an idea why don't we split up for a bit and if we see anything dangerous send up a flare or an alarm. The one good thing about  that was that I didn't have to talk to anyone or be with anyone. 

 I still haven't seen anything dangerous and I've been walking for hours  my feet are killing me and I'm getting really annoyed At the bee that keeps following me, But then I saw a  flare in the sky it must have been Annabeth, if she was in trouble I must come and Help her.

When I got to her she said it was nothing she just got bored of being with nobody so I just wasted 25 minutes of walking to her and she was fine just bored, But then I really saw a monster it was about the size of Tyrannosaurus Rex and it was about to eat us. I thought quickly maybe I can hit it with a stick and  it would become unconscious and then we can make a quick Escape, But when I was about to say that Annabeth was already jumping up with her dagger at it about to hit it in the eye but then he breathed  fire and almost hit her but she dodged it by half a millimetre, But she missed the eye and I had to think quickly I picked up the biggest stick I could see and I whacked it turned to me and I started running as fast as I could and yelled out, “Annabeth save yourself I'm good here.” ( which was a total lie I'm not fine I need help)

Then  a lightning bolt shot out of the sky and hit the monster, it explode into dust, I'm not too sure how  Zeus did that he doesn't have his lightning bolt Maybe he can breath lightning or something I'm not too sure but I didn't have time to think about it right now, another monster just appeared out of nowhere and started chasing after me, but this time  no lightning bolt came I was just left there running from a huge monster the size of a tyrannosaurus rex all I could do was run, I ran as fast as I could but I still couldn't get away from this crazy monster. 

I'm Not too sure what happened I think I  got knocked out by something  but next  time I woke up I was in a hospital with a broken arm and a broken leg (well just ruined my quest I thought to myself) “What happened?” I asked really confused. “ you got stung by a scorpion,  you're lucky someone found you you could have died out there.”  “ I got stung by a scorpion.” I said sounding very shocked. “Where's Annabeth?” “ I don't know who Annabeth is sorry” said  the hospital person  (what she was there with me) I thought to myself. “Anyway I've got to go thanks for saving me but bye” “ you can't leave you just got here and you're very unwell “ “Now go to sleep” said the hospital person. “Zzzzzz”

 when  I woke up  I realised that they had captured me what  gave it away was That I was sitting in a pot of water with carrots so  I have the feeling They are going to eat me.  I thought quickly maybe I can escape out the open window before they realise I'm awake so I did I ran away as fast as I could and got away from that horrible place of torchure.       

 I couldn't get too carried away I still had to find Annabeth I can't believe I let her go alone what a fool I was. But there was no time to think about things like That now “ANNABETH, ANNABETH” I yelled but no response. I wandered into the forest where I met a young girl about 8 years old with a fire and a nice hot plate of food, when  I asked her who she was and she said “hebe Goddess of youth.”  I was shocked I was meeting one of the youngest gods there is, she invited me to dinner but I quickly turned down and said “I have to find my friend Annabeth.”  

I kept walking for a while but found nothing  but a couple of spiders a bee and a lot of ants. After walking for a couple of  hours I was extremely hungry,  I needed food I looked for trees with apples, pears or any other fruit.  after what felt like hours, I finally found an apple tree with one sad lonely Apple, I ate it felt so good on my taste buds i ate the whole thing two bites.

 I continued on my search for Annabeth but still found nothing.

 But then a monster came out of nowhere with two daggers, I was frightened I actually  pretended to be dead but he didn't buy it instead he just charged at me and tried to stab me Mist twice that got one of his daggers stuck in a rock  that was my chance to escape I took elec that was my chance to escape I took that chance and ran as fast as I could ( yes I know I was doing a lot of running but I had to I was getting away for a lot

 of monsters) 

I stopped running because I had a stitch, but I think I lost the monster but now I was lost in the middle of a forest. I wandered around for a bit before it got dark, I was so tired, (if you haven’t noticed it has been a hard couple of days and still no Annabeth. ) 

“Zzzzzzzzz annabeth zzzzz where are you zzzzzzzz.” 

“I had an intense dream last night i dreamt that i saw annabeth in a weird purple cave I have never seen before.” Anyway, I continued my search, one thing was strange when I woke up I was in a big city like New York but it wasn’t New York, but I didn't say anything or do anything to draw attention I just kept walking on and on. 

After an hour I saw someone waving at me, it was Annabeth!! I was so excited i jumped literally jumped. But she was trapped behind bars. (what do you reckon she did cause I don’t know) Anyways the important thing was getting her out. “But how” I thought outloud  “how would I get to her out  she's like trapped Behind Bars”,  That's when it hit me, maybe I could pretend to be a police officer and get her out. It was risky but it might work. (But seriously if anyone has a better idea I'd love to hear it )

5 minutes later I bought myself a dress up police officer outfit it didn't quite fit but that didn't bother me at all, The next challenging  part was to get in get the keys to her cell ( police cell not cell phone if you thought I was going to hack her or anything, that would be weird)

Ok finally got the keys, I had to wait for a meeting ( unlucky for me it had just started when I got there.) But I finally got the keys it took me forever to find the right ones, They just happened to be the ones  right at the back, which was annoying,(but still it makes me think how long has she been there.) I had to move quickly so I don’t get caught. But as I was walking up the stairs I saw someone luckily I was wearing that police costume otherwise I would have been busted. When I got to Annabeth's cage I unlocked it she jumped out and I couldn’t tell whether she was trying to hug me of hit me, but no matter what it was I jumped out of the way.

When we got out of the police station we ran away, far far away. Nothing much happened in the past couple of days. The next time we saw people, they were in the forest hunting for bears. Just watching them pained me (I hated when people hurt animals) yet they were our only chance of food and a bed. “Can we please have some food”said Annabeth, all of the hunters said “no”all at the same time. We pretended to start crying, but they still didn’t let us so we left them with sad faces, and empty tummies.

“Well they were nice” Annabeth said, but I wasn't in the mood for talking after that. “We better start getting ready for bed.”  I mumbled “I will go look for firewood “ Annabeth said. I had barely touched my food I don’t feel like eating “I am going to bed” I mumbled. I got ready for bed and I was asleep in seconds “zzzzz”

The next morning I woke up quite late,  I could smell  bacon coming  from the fire. I wondered where she got the bacon. (maybe she got it from the prison,  but I'm not too sure.) Anyway after breakfast we did some sword practice, it would help my skills if we needed  to do battle  it was quite fun but hard, Annabeth was a master at battle. 

We continued walking, I told annabeth about how I only had till the winter solstice and she said “YOU ARE ONLY TELLING ME NOW WE ONLY HAVE TWO DAYS LEFT. “ ''Oh I didn't know.” I said “ok we can do this we can do this,All we have to do is find the bolt  get it to Zeus who's in New York in 2 days ,that  will be easy won't it. Lets go”

 After a few hours of Silence  I said “if we're gonna do this  in 1 1/2 days we are  going to have to work together you got it” “Yeah sure, whatever. “ She said ( Which I thought Was a little rude) “ok here's the plan “ '' whoa whoa whoa where is my input.” Annabeth interrupted ( what's gotten into Annabeth she's acting  all will mean and horrible.) “what's your plan” I said in my fake nice voice, “well you started so keep going” Annabeth said angrily

I just read the book first to the top, it is a book about sir Edmund Hillary climbing to the top of mount Everest. it is a very interesting book with most of sir Edmund's struggles climbing to the top of Everest.

i give this book a 5 out of 5 and recommend it to everybody.

terrible pirates

In my reading group we did a play called terrible pirates the people in my group are Max, Jennah, Lilly Rose, Kate, Tallulah and Elliott.
The hardest part was learning my lines off by heart and building props. This is because we made the props out of old cardboard and learning lines that is just hard as
my favourite part was preforming the play and building props as it was fun to preform and I like building stuff.😀

Today we had to identify public of private information .there were three made up people with something like a blog post and by highlighting the words  red it was private and highlighting it green it was public then we had to chose one of the people and change it by changing the name the email address and their school. my one is right here     ↧

In room 2 we made something showing the holy spirit is an advocate, and a spirit of truth and why then. we had to say how we could show this to someone else.

       In room 2 we have been learning how to make a post on why Miss Holland should buy a chromebook. first we had to list reasons why people should buy a chromebook and then we made it into a google drawing.

In room 2 we had to use the bible to search for some bible verses about the holy spirit, and we had to decide whether it was a sentence saying that the Holy Spirit was a comforter or a Spirit of truth. 

A comforter means like its saying it will be with us forever

A spirit of truth is like it will help us tell the truth about God.

Turtles

W.A.L.T Write an information report on animal.  

To write a report there are 3 paragraphs and a conclusion. The introduction is about hooking the reader in by giving them some interesting facts about your animal. Number one and two are about where they live, what they eat and stuff. For number three you have to write three or four interesting facts about your animal. The last few sentences is about your opinion of the animal.

Turtles are reptiles that have been around since the dinosaurs.
They normally have their own different pattern on their necks
so you can tell them apart.

Sea turtles can be colours like yellow reddish-brown and black.
They have have four flippers to help them swim unlike tortoises
that have four thick stumpy legs for  moving on ground. Turtles
can live anywhere on earth (seriously one washed up in pigeon
bay New Zealand) but they especially like shallow warm water.

Sea turtles are normally aggressive but sometimes they are
friendly (but that's a rare occasion). they normally go deep
underwater to get stuff to eat, sometimes they'll eat meat and
sometimes vegetables and others eat both. They always need
to go deep underwater to get food but some have problems
with their back flippers so they can´t go to deep.

Sea turtles can live to be 30-100 years old and can weigh
hundreds of pounds.There are nine different types of sea turtles
and most of them are endangered. Most of the stuff killing
them is from humans and the things are just any types of
rubbish.

Sea turtles are cool and interesting animals.they are so
awesome and and I think their colourful shell is awesome.
